The 4th Biennial Concordia Continental Ceramics Competition has emerged to become one of the premier international juried clay exhibitions in the USA. With works from North and Central America, including the Caribbean, 2012's CCCC4 promises to be a showcase of stunning ceramic art.

Lancaster artist and teacher, Shalya Marsh, exhibits her ceramic sculpture and installation in the Rothman Gallery. Marsh's work explores the history and development of signs and symbols and the multiple meaning in language using codes and ciphers. Presented at the Howard County Center for the Arts, Gallery II, this exhibition highlights two sculptors, Shalya Marsh and Lars Westby, both working in clay with distinct similarities and differences. The exhibit explores themes of coding and ciphers. Marsh's piece, Morse Plurality uses two types of encoding a straight substitution based on the textures applied to each form, and a Morse code created by the dots and dashes of the forms themselves. Cipher 037 represents the alphabet from A-Z plus the punctuation marks period and comma. Challenge yourself to decode Morse Plurality using the Cipher 037 and Morse code.
